SPECIFICATION & Procurement
If relevant, the level of this service is defined in the Deliverables section of this proposal, and will reflect the client’s pre-determined preference as previously discussed.

In the instance of The Painted Hive Interiors procuring decor items, an estimate will be presented for acceptance and paid in full prior to the purchase of any products. A 10% service fee applies. At the conclusion of the project, a product document will be presented for transparency. In the event of a favourable budget disparity, the client will be reimbursed accordingly.
Project Timeline
For virtual design services, depending on the scope of the project, a four-six week turn-around from commencement to completion is generally observed.
For full service design services, depending on the scope of the project, the phases will typically follow a timeline similar to below:
- Concept & Design Development: 4 – 8 weeks
- Specification & Procurement: 4 – 6 weeks
- Construction & Implementation: Dependent on scope of project
Some things to consider that can help keep things moving:
- Client Feedback: Receiving feedback in a timely manner is crucial in facilitating steady project momentum. Please endeavour to respond to any communication as promptly as possible.
- Selections Decisions: Product availability status can change quickly. Once a selection has been finalised, please pay the invoice as promptly as possible to avoid out-of-stock disappointment.
- Long Lead-Times: Some products have lead-times in excess of 26 weeks. Please be prepared to order any necessary products several months out from the anticipated build completion.
Communication
Primary communication will be via email, with client emails being responded to within 24 – 48 hours (during normal business time). As applicable, weekly progress reports will be sent to the client via email.
Unless urgent, phone calls should be scheduled and made only during normal business time.
Up to one meeting (in person or via video conference, as applicable) may be scheduled per fortnight at a mutually convenient time.
REVISIONS
Included revisions are specified in the Deliverables section of this proposal. One revision is classified as any alteration to the concept which impacts less than 20% of the design. Alterations exceeding this are beyond the scope of this agreement and will be treated as a variation.
INSTALLATION
Installation day/s will be scheduled in advance with the client receiving at least one week notice. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we ask that the premises is vacant during installation (this includes residents and any third party personnel, as applicable), and that any relevant spaces are prepared to a reasonable standard of cleanliness prior.
Intellectual Property
The Painted Hive Interiors owns the copyright for the design, and any reproduction or use of the design by any party for any purpose is strictly prohibited without written permission. We kindly ask you to respect our intellectual property rights.
VIRTUAL CONCEPTS
Although to-scale and realistic, virtual concepts are intended as aspirational visual guides only. Associated areas/spaces/rooms outside the specified scope of this proposal may not necessarily be included in the digital design. Items and materials shown in virtual concepts will often be depicted exactly, however in some cases they will be representational. Colour or sheen accuracy may be impacted by screen settings and particular environmental conditions in your actual space, as such, I always advocate trialling samples in situ. Unless otherwise agreed, general decor items included in virtual concepts are shown for illustrative purposes only and not subject to individual specification – this excludes key pieces such as area rugs, wall art and soft furnishings, where applicable.

The client reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time by giving The Painted Hive Interiors notice in writing. The client is required to pay The Painted Hive Interiors all amounts due at the date of termination, including any further work that has been accrued on a percentage basis in accordance with this agreement.
