Riley John Franklin arrived safely on the 24 March 2013 at 7.05pm weighing 7.7lbs (3.5kgs).
He is absolutely perfect in every way (‘course I do have to think that though, don’t I?).
I’ll spare you all the birth story (for nows, anyway :-) except to say that it was a 21 hour labour which all started with a coughing fit, followed by a minor non-related car accident, and, despite some challenges, concluded with a successful VBAC delivery!
Thank you soooo much to everyone for all the well wishes (and, in advance, thanks also for your patience during my momentary blog lull whilst I enjoy some family time).

As a mom of 3 boys, I’m so excited for you! I’m sure Charlotte will have so much fun with her little brother. Adorable photos! Congratulations!
Congratulations! He is adorable. I look forward to future posts but you shouldn’t feel pressured to blog more frequently than you feel like it. The children are young for such a short time. Shorter than you think. My “baby” is about to turn 25! It’s gone by so quickly. I loved raising a boy, by the way. I wish you all the best.
He is a beautiful baby!
Hia Kristine, It’s me Judith , grandmother from USA who admires your Mermaid fern !
I wanted to say with the heart of a grandmother…that this little cherub is precious. He is like a china doll, skin so perfect. So calm and sweet, feeling the love and protection of his family. Riley John is in good hands. Enjoy every moment of his precious life. Love, Judith
Thanks so much Judith :-)
So adorable, congratulations!

God Bless your family and your precious baby boy! Congratulations! enjoy your family time!
Whoah! I have a great deal of respect for anyone who can be in labor for that long! My two boys (now 3 and 10 months) together had a combined labor of 2.5 hours!
And congrats, he IS beautiful!
He, he, thanks Erin. I guess your little ones were just more anxious to meet the world!
Ha ha, I guess so!
On another note, when are we going to get a peek of your kitchen? We’re in the middle of a budget reno of ours and I would love some inspiration from yours, as I’m sure it’s adorable!
Oh, Erin, I’m sorry to say that my kitchen is currently far from adorable!
We are yet to properly touch any of our wet areas though I’m hoping to start tackling them once we finish Charlotte’s big girl’s room. The main issue with our kitchen is chipped and water- damaged laminate along with ugly cupboard handles which are actually built-in to the doors (which makes a quick, easy and cheap update kinda tricky). I have a few ideas though and will be sure to share when we get around to the reno.
Well done Mum. Thank you for your cleverness. Thank you for sharing. This is your best work, being a mum, give it all the time and patience you need. I’ll wait. A big bubble of love to you and family.
Congratulations! He looks so peaceful after so much excitement!
Congratulations to you and your family!
Congratulations, Kristine. He’s just beautiful. :)
